Concert VOYAGE AUX ILES avec SIRÈNE ET MATELOT et CLAUDE CORMIER
SIRÈNE ET MATELOT may be their first joint album, but this is not the first time PATRICIA RICHARD and LENNIE GALLANT have worked together artistically. These two Acadians from Prince Edward Island have been performing together for years. Together, they share a passion for music that they wanted to explore by composing songs that reflect their roots and experiences, but also their concerns about the current global context. Their collaboration speaks of the desire to escape, to breathe and to connect with oneself, with nature or perhaps even with mythical beings who can inspire us to live fully. (Concert presented in French.)
CLAUDE CORMIER grew up by the sea, in that corner of Acadia called the Magdalen Islands. Born in Havre-aux-Maisons, he has been a singer-songwriter for many tides. A fisherman by trade, he is fascinated by traditional Acadian music that brings life to the day-to-day in the bend of a refrain. With five musicians on stage, this show offers songs inspired by anecdotes, family stories, historical facts and romances tinged with the warm and dynamic color of the Acadians and the poetry that characterizes the insularity of the Madelinots. (Concert presented in French.)* HEALTH GUIDELINES *
