The Edmundston Arts Centre innovates this summer with a multi-platform programming!
“Musical Wednesdays” are back for a 35th season with a new “multi-platform” formula. A first for the Centre, which, despite COVID-19, wants to offer Madawaska citizens and visitors an accessible, varied and remarkable artistic programming. The FREE concerts will be held at the Edmundston Arts Centre, every Wednesday of the summer at 7 pm.
In accordance to Public Health guidelines, the Arts Centre will be able to accommodate up to 12 bubbles (tables) for 2 to 6 people indoors, for a total of 40 seats. Reservations will be accepted by phone or in person at the Arts Centre, starting Thursday of the week before the concert. Interested parties must arrive no later than 15 minutes before the beginning of the show and sign the mandatory registry. Please note that table service will be offered to avoid lines at the refreshment counter.
Live and rebroadcasted concerts
Also, to facilitate access, the shows will be broadcasted at 9 pm on community radio CFAI FM at 101.1 FM and 101.5 FM, as well as LIVE on the Arts Centre’s "Edmundston en spectacle" Facebook page. You will also be able to interact with artists using the chat function. The concerts will also be rebroadcasted on TV ROGERS twice a week, for up to two months after the performance.
The 2020 edition of Musical Wednesdays will feature singer-songwriters from the Madawaska region and New Brunswick. It will make you discover a wide variety of musical genres, from country to folk to rock, in addition to an evening dedicated to traditional Aboriginal songs and dances. Programming has already started with artist André Picard during Canada Day celebrations.
